It’s Whack-A-Mole time!
A disaster-weary globe will be hit harder in the coming years by even more catastrophes colliding in an interconnected world, a United Nations report issued Monday says.
If current trends continue the world will go from around 400 disasters per year in 2015 to an onslaught of about 560 catastrophes a year by 2030, the scientific report by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction said. By comparison from 1970 to 2000, the world suffered just 90 to 100 medium to large scale disasters a year, the report said.
The number of extreme heat waves in 2030 will be three times what it was in 2001 and there will be 30% more droughts, the report predicted. It’s not just natural disasters amplified by climate change, it’s COVID-19, economic meltdowns and food shortages. Climate change has a huge footprint in the number of disasters, report authors said.

They claim an increasing trend since the 1970s, when miraculously it seems there were hardly any disasters at all!
In fact, the table from the actual report makes it clear that the number of disasters has in reality been declining since 2000, a fact which makes a nonsense of the projected rise of 40% by 2030:

But why the rapid increase since 1970?
We have been down this road before. The data comes from EM-DAT the International Disaster Database. They only began publishing data in 1998, and in 2004 warned that earlier data was incomplete:

How many disasters would have been officially logged by the UN or any international body fifty years ago, when the threshold was so low? Indeed many much bigger disasters don’t appear in EM-DAT in those early years, such as the Red River Delta flood in Vietnam, which killed an estimate 100,000 people in 1971:

Yet EM-DAT ignore this flood entirely:

As they say, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics. Choosing the low point in 2015 then saying there’s a projected 40% rise to 2030, when it’s clear there’s a much higher point than 2015 in 2000, and 2000-2015 is only half a climate trend data point period anyway, is a damn lie of the most nefarious order.
The MSM involvement in engendering fear in children is just using another form of GROOMING.Anyone approving of this fear mongering is a GROOMER.
According to the “i” yesterday, children in the UK are more frightened of climate disasters than any other threat. The complicit press and other meja have created an atmosphere where people feel threatened by non-events. Also, all the penguins will have gone by 2100 unless we do what the models say!
Some media ‘reporters’ regularly trot out the meme that things are worse than we thought because already there are no penguins in the Arctic!

They left off a burgeoning disaster befalling the NH: the war in Ukraine, which could escalate. A real disaster is having a whole city blown off the map by a madman.

You’re right Phoenix. Some people blindly accept that the Ukrainian Civil war is all the fault of Putin, with the same blindness they accept that climate changing is all the fault of naughty CO2. That so many people havent studied the history of the civil war, which kicked off properly in 2014, mirrors that lack of willingness to study physics, history or geology in relation to ever changing climate. The history of violence between the warring peoples in ukraine goes back centuries. Ukraine needs to follow the path of Czechoslovakia. The sooner it agrees to divide into its different ethnic groups the sooner the war will finish.

Talking of climate swindles, the DT is reporting that Prince Charles is backing a new ‘methane capture’ trial scheme to be delployed on some of the nation’s cattle. It involves the fitting of a novel mask utilising catalytic converter technology to capture and filter the creatures’ burps in order to address the climate crisis. I look forward, in due course, to an ingenious individual inventing a mask that will cure the heir to the throne of his complete lack of critical thinking ability. The sooner the better methinks.

Most people believe this stuff have not the slightest idea of what is reality and if you try and say different you are quickly shut up.
Our locality gets flooded and climate change has been labelled the culprit, I knew this was wrong, so i actually filmed the flooding happening that showed development was the cause. Local council says I am wrong, full on climate emergency policy idiots, and it’s climate change causing the flooding.
The strange thing is the recently updated Environment Agency flood modelling actually agrees with my observations.
But the climate change belief runs deep.

Firstly the bar has been set ludicrously low for what is defined as an “extreme event”. Secondly anyone who seriously believes the reporting of such events in 1970 could be compared with 2020 should be in Broadmoor.
I complained to the BBC about the same nonsense last year. Response shows they are deaf as a post. Ignorant. Stupid. Malign. Who knows what the motive is? I suspect they are just ignorant and stupid and incapable of performing due diligence.
That’s the typical behaviour of an organisation that is not dependent on satisfying customer needs for their survival. I would imagine a good few of the contributors here recall the ‘glory’ days of nationalised British industries and their total disdain for the people who were paying their wages?

The Caribbean has already woken up to the possibility of riches to be gleaned from the ‘new’ slave trade. This is people running the scheme keeping the ‘negatives’ and so the demand can never be paid off. Where is the dash to repatriate in the old country that so many had ancestral displacement from? Do they have a real yearning for Dengue Fever? See it for what it is in the modern era, a scam and the UN perpetuates it by not having a handicap system for national status.
